Wildspitze intensive
3 days, from Friday to Sunday
The Wildspitze, Tyrol's highest mountain, the dream destination of many mountaineers and hikers. On top of that, the three-thousand-metre peak "Wildes Mannle, 3,017m" and glacier training with crampon and ice axe techniques as well as glacier roped climbing. Enjoy three intensive days with a comfortable mountain hut as accommodation.
Schedule:
- Day 1: Arrival day meeting point at 10.00 am in Vent at the chairlift. Ascent to Stablein and hike over the Wilde Mannle to the Rofenkarferner. Crossing the glacier tongue with crampons. Prior to this we practise roping up on the glacier and basic crampon technique.
Day 2: Glacier training on the Rofenkarferner. Stepping on the ice, advanced crampon and ice axe techniques, setting ice screws, walking and braking in the snow. Evening planning of the Wildspitze tour
Day 3: Ascent to the Wildspitze, 3,770m. Dreamlike conclusion of these three intensive days - descent to Vent and journey home.
Group size: 4-6 persons
Participants: minimum 4 persons
Requirements: Several years of hiking experience, steady footing and good physical condition. Enthusiasm for high mountains. Previous acclimatisation is recommended.

Mountaineering basic course at the Breslauer Hütte with ascent of the Wildspitze, 3770 m
6 days, from Sunday to Friday
The area: The Ötztal Alps, highest mountain range in the Eastern Alps. Large glaciers and high mountains dominate the scene, including the highest mountain in Tyrol, the 3,770 m Wildspitze. Optimal conditions for this course.
The hut: The Breslauerhütte is situated at 2,844 m above sea level. The high altitude results in short distances and plenty of time for training. The Rofenkar glacier can be reached in 45 minutes. The pleasant atmosphere in the cosy guest rooms and the support of the hut host Alex make the Breslauerhütte the perfect location for this course. Luggage transport to the hut included!

Programme:
- Day 1: Welcome and ascent to the hut. Review of the programme.
Day 2: Morning ascent of the Wilden Mannle, 3,017m, with training in footwork in the terrain and orientation with map. Afterwards crossing of the glacier tongue of the Rofenkarferner with learning of the Allzacken technique and glacier roping. Knot tying.
Day 3: Further crampon technique with handling of the ice axe. In the afternoon, basic climbing school in the climbing garden near the hut. Evening: Planning of the tour to the Ötztaler Urkund, 3.556m.
Day 4: Tour to the Ötztaler Urkund, 3,556 m. We ascend this high mountain via the glacier trail, definitely an ideal training for the Wildspitze. Dry training of the pulley for crevasse rescue in the afternoon.
Day 5: Crevasse rescue using a pulley on the Rofenkarferner, an important component for independent glacier tours. Evening planning of the final tour to the Wildspitze.
Day 6: Tour to the Wildspitze, 3,770 m. Great highlight of the week. Putting into practice what we have learnt. Ascent via the Mitterkarklettersteig and the Taschachferner to the highest point. In good conditions, descent through the Rofenkar possible. From the Breslauer Hütte back to Vent. Journey home
Meeting point: 15:00 hrs at the chairlift in Vent.
